I produce commercials and content for brands and agencies — and depending on the project, I'm your producer, EP, or production company.
People hire me because they know they don't have to worry about production.
That's my job: make hard things look easy. I solve problems before they become your problems, keep things moving when the plan changes, and build crews people actually enjoy spending twelve hours with. We work hard, laugh a lot, and at the end of the day the work gets delivered the way it should.
I started in Winston-Salem at Long Haymes Carr, a small shop with national accounts and a foam-core Joe Namath in pantyhose storyboard on the wall. That's where I learned agency production, and where I started building the network of crews and partners I still call on.
When Mullen acquired us, I grew with the shop — Sr. Producer to SVP, Director of Broadcast, fast. Then Crispin Porter + Bogusky in the Miami era: 24/7, 365, the front edge of integrated production, picking up the hardware along the way. Then BBDO, building a digital group inside the Atlanta office and sitting on the management committee. Burger King, Coke Zero, VW, Cingular-to-AT&T, ING. (There's a Spike Lee story in there somewhere. Ask me sometime.)
In 2008 I went out on my own, aiming at something specific: produce high-profile agency work and make content for smaller shops and brands directly. Global campaigns for Goodby, JWT, Mullen — Microsoft, HP, Smirnoff, Xfinity — right alongside scrappy direct jobs, bidding shoots, sourcing crews, cutting national spots from a laptop at my favorite coffee shop.
I've moved between those two worlds ever since — out on my own, then back inside as Director of Production at The Variable, helping build them into a four-time Small Agency of the Year, then back out again. Each time, I learn the other side better. It's why I can step into your team as your producer, come in at the EP level, or handle the whole thing start to finish.
TV commercials, documentaries, episodics, social, stills, events — I've delivered them all. I can cover nearly every letter of the alphabet with the brands I've worked with. Cannes Lions, Emmys, Tellys, Small Agency of the Year, Shorty Awards along the way.
These days I work the way I want to: agency-side or client-side, your producer or your whole production company. Different roles. Same standard.
I love this work — the hard parts most of all. If you've got something worth making, I'd like to hear about it.
